Visual arts - brain-based learning

I am doing my thesis on how neuroscientific research can be used to improve
visual art education. There seems to be quite a bit of research out there on
music - hemisphere localization, novice vs. expert, "Mozart effect", etc. I
am having a hard time finding anything on visual art, however. Does anyone
have any ideas on where I can find something on this?

I am also interested in a critical analysis of the theories promoted by the
brain-based learnining "gurus" who make their living by teaching these ideas
to schools (texts, lecture circuit, workshops, etc.) - people like David A.
Sousa, Robert Sylwester, Renate Nummela Caine & Geoffrey Caine, Eric Jensen,
etc. Any input you have on this would also be appreciated. Thank you.
