There was an interesting article in the Financial Times this weekend.
BODY AND MIND: A scientist who draws the most out of maths: THE NATURE OF
THINGS: Roger Penrose puts his background to good use when explaining his
subject's complexities, writes Clive Cookson . . .
Financial Times; Oct 20, 2001

It also mentioned Drawing Power [see
http://www.drawingpower.org.uk/menu2.htm] an event now in its second year.
According to the page the event endeavors to build on Ruskin's idea drawing
is the foundation for visual thought and a mode capable of teaching people
not simply how to draw, but also how to see.
Anyone participlate in any of these events?
