  Fourth Annual Postgraduate Conference,
  February 2002

  CALL FOR PAPERS

  MAKING SENSE OF EMOTION:
PHILOSOPHIES OF ART, ETHICS AND MIND

The purpose of this one-day conference is to promote philosophical
discussion about the nature of emotion. We invite papers on the relevance of
emotion to aesthetics, ethics and philosophy of mind. Submissions from
postgraduates working in other areas of philosophy, particularly those in
which the importance of emotion has gone unrecognised, are also welcome.

Papers should be no more than twenty minutes long. In the first instance,
proposals of approximately 300 words should be sent to Melenia Arouh
(ma399@soton.ac.uk) or James Cuthbert (djc2@soton.ac.uk). The deadline for
proposals is 22nd December 2001. Final drafts of accepted papers will be
  required by 15th January 2002.

The date of the conference is still to be confirmed. A second call for
papers, detailing the date and keynote speaker, will be issued shortly.
There will be no conference registration fee.
