I have recently been working on synesthesia. It seems that your
friend/colleague has synesthesia. I have never come across
any literature mentioning a link between synesthesia and
other mental problems (including schizophrenia). like Patrick
said, I would think it is just a coincidence.
On the other hand, I would be grateful if I could run some short
psychophysical experiments on your synesthete friend. where does
she live? if she doesn't live in LA, does she have any plans of
visiting LA?
