glenn, i dont think i was specifically reffering to what you said
but to some other posts, but as i included your text it implied that..
yes i agree- context is endless, where does context stop and where
does one draw the frame of what is art? because you know it
everything if you dont stop somewhere.. like when i first visited
the louvre.. i was totally enthralled by the marble tiles on the
floor. i walked round all day looking at the beauty of the floor the
pattern, the expertise, the colour, contempalting particular
placements as compared to others ,etc etc ..one may say that is
craft/architexture/not art..to me it was more "moving' than wierdo
paintings like the mona lisa that are positioned there behind
protective glass because of their valuve in the commodity market..
i work on the net l and ive pretty much lost touch with solid object
art, it doesnt actually interrest me that much anymore.. tho an
exceptional piece will grab me..and an exceptional piece if i have to
define it is useally sculpture..and i have a bodily relation to
it..(btw as a femminist i dont believe in disembodied spaces and am
coming to think that descartes was a good guy) my frame has moved to
art is about spaces and that which they contain.. its something i am
immeressed in and im experienceing.. its almost filmic and its where
i choose to draw my boundaries..
