Outside of the context of politics and commerce? I wouldn't make such
a claim. But art couldn't exist outside of the context of the sun
either, and it would be just as big of a mistake to jump to the
conclusion that art has to be 'about' the sun.
I don't think I was elevating anything. I just don't think that it is
meaningful to equate art with commerce and politics just because they
inform and influence one another.
