Hmmmm, I'm not too sure about the consciousness on a stick thing, but
it doesn't sound like the idea that artists represent the contents and
processes of consciousness is completely incompatible with Melinda's
list. However, I must admit that art seems to be most effective when
it transcends most of those aspects. Art lends itself to be combined
with all sorts of things, but I think it is a mistake to conflate that
'aboutness' with art itself.
