I think what happens is people who sit out there with throw together systems,
which can be fun, use mailers that haven't been updated, and thus they read
code along with their mail. I try to put only links to sites in as HTML. So I
don't use keywords such as strong (for bold) and tend to *WORD* for emphasis
and quotes for titles instead of ital(ic)s. I know lots of people on various
mailing lists are into "write ribbon" and they are just to fussy and cranky
for me, to be painfully honest.
